CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Nursery Care Nursery care is provided for children from birth to age 3 in the nursery near the sanctuary during both the Sunday School and Worship hours.  A certified attendant is available during both of these hours. Pre-School (ages 3-5) Available during the Sunday School and Worship hours. Children discover Bible truths through simple concepts, simple songs, sensory activities, and reality-based learning. There are many opportunities for children to explore and discover and move while older siblings and parents are attending their classes and the worship service. Rotation Sunday School (Grades K-4) Children in grades Kindergarten through the fourth grade participate in our Rotation Sunday School program, Journey Through the Bible, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Each month they learn a different Bible story and explore it in a unique way each Sunday. For example, in September, the students will be studying Jacob and Esau. On different Sundays they will put on puppet skits, learn to make the Jacob's Ladder string figure, put on a play or participate in games that show the struggle between Jacob and Esau, create their own storytelling kit or make a wooden Jacob's ladder toy, and learn the story and play games through a computer program.

Young Disciples (Grades 5-6)
Those children in Grades 5 & 6 attend the Young Disciples class where they learn church and Disciples' history and deepen their faith as they move toward baptism and church membership.

Breakfast Club (Grades 7-12)
Each week this group studies Bible stories or passages and how to apply them as they explore how to live their faith on a daily basis in today's world.

Adult Sunday School
There are three classes available for adult learners. They are the Maranatha class, which meets in the Family Life Center, the Faithful Followers, which meets in classroom 3, and the Friendly Christians/Mary Martha class, which meets in the parlor. These classes use a variety of materials to learn about different passages from the Bible and how they apply to daily life. At least one of these classes will meet the needs of interested adults.

Worship Hour Classes
While older children and adults participate in the worship service we offer classes younger children up through the fourth grade.

The Pre-schoolers continue to learn and play in their classroom.

Those in Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to attend the worshipful opening and sing in the Family Life Center together and then go to age appropriate classes held in classrooms 1 and 2.  Each Sunday, the students will hear a Bible story and participate in games, activities, and crafts that will help them remember and apply the day's lesson.
